Scams

An invention promotion marketer has agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that he violated federal law by duping consumers with false promises.
The proposed settlement bans him from marketing invention promotion services and requires him to dismiss his appeal of a contempt judgment and stipulate that his $59 million liability from the contempt action cannot be voided through bankruptcy.

Tomima Edmark had shiny, long, flowing hair- that she could never get to stay in a hair do. But she wasn’t worrying about her air the night in the late 1980’s when she was sitting in a movie theater, enjoying the show.

She was reminded of her problem by the woman sitting in front of her whose hair was elegantly styled in a “French twist”, when suddenly she came up with the idea for the TopsyTail- a hairstyling tool that turned a ponytail inside out to make numerous beautiful hairstyles..
This little brainstorm of an idea went on to become the most successful hair accessory in history. (more…)

Robert Kearns is a Detroit-based engineer (1960) and college professor with a supportive wife, Phyllis and a brood of six children.

Yearning to make an impact on the world no matter how great or small, Robert sets out to see his idea for intermittent windshield wipers become a reality.
Working in his basement, Kearns put together the first intermittent wiper from off-the-shelf components and tested it in a fish tank. (more…)

New Discovery Channel show tells experts to “Prototype This”
Premiering in October, the new show on the Discovery Channel is titled “Prototype This.”

The television series has gathered experts and given the the task of applying their specific skills to exhibit to the viewers – each step of the inventing process.” Who better than a expert in the computer industry, Dr.Zoz Brooks. He might be nicknamed “the robologist ” since he focuses on robot technology along with computer technology. Put a computer specialist and a special effects specialist (in the personage of TerrySandin ), add one of those brilliant electrical engineers to the mix and it sounds like one fantastic show and series is coming our way.

Burnett has inked a deal with Sony Pictures Television to create a stateside version of Dragons’ Den, a Japanese reality series that follows ambitious entrepreneurs as they try to sway successful tycoons to invest in their ideas, Daily Variety reported.
